Our Plan
“For behold, this is my work and my glory—to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man.” Moses 1:39
As members of the true Church of Jesus Christ, it is our sacred opportunity and responsibility to assist our Heavenly Father and our Savior, Jesus Christ, in their work “…to bring to the pass the immortality and eternal life of…” our brothers and sisters.
President Russell M. Nelson has said, “The gathering of Israel is the most important thing taking place on the earth today. Nothing else compares in magnitude, nothing else compares in importance, nothing else compares in majesty.”
Our Plan to Gather Scattered Israel on both sides of the veil will be used as a guiding document as the leaders and members of the Butler West Stake set stake, ward, and individual goals in our efforts to gather scattered Israel on both sides of the veil.
Blessings for Our Efforts
Plan
Ministering is learning of and attending to others’ needs. It is doing the Lord’s work. When we minister, we are representing Jesus Christ and acting as His agents to watch over, lift, and strengthen those around us.
Through ministering as the Savior did, and using the principle of Love, Share and Invite, we will focus on “the One”. The One that needs to be taught the gospel, learn the first principles and ordinances of the gospel, enter into the waters of baptism and receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. The One that needs to advance in the priesthood by receiving the Melchizedek Priesthood and being ordained an Elder. The One that needs to receive their own temple ordinances. The One that needs to return to the temple. The One that needs more temple power and blessings through regular temple attendance. The One that needs to learn to do temple and family history work outside the walls of the temple, advancing the gathering of Israel on both sides of the veil.
Stake Goals
Objectives
Our stake objectives and focus will be as follows:
Finding and teaching the One the Gospel of Jesus Christ along with the first principles and ordinances of the gospel and inviting them into the waters of baptism and to receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Assisting the One in advancing in the priesthood (prospective elders).
Fellowshipping the One who will receive their own endowment in the temple.
Inviting the One whose temple recommend has lapsed for a season to renew their recommend and return to the temple.
Encouraging the One to increase their temple attendance thereby receiving greater access to the blessings and power from on high.
Teaching and supporting the One how to do temple and family history work outside the walls of the temple to find family names that they will take to the temple.
Other areas of focus could include: Individuals receiving their patriarchal blessing, full time, senior and service missionaries, temple workers serving, or other worthwhile goals.
Each ward will be encouraged to set individual ward goals in the following areas
One baptism.
One prospective elder ordained and elder.
One member receiving their own endowment.
One individual whose temple recommend has expired for more than a year to be renewed.
One individual who has not attended the temple on a regular basis now attending.
One person finds and takes a family name to the temple.
The bishopric and ward council will review progress on these goals in their Ward Council and individual leadership meetings. The bishop will report successes to the stake president, One by One.
The faithful effort, ministering like the Savior, and more focused love from our sisters and brothers in our stake, will specifically bless the lives of 48 individuals (the Ones) as they progress on the Covenant Path.
